A bingo board called “Dreams”

Moving out of waiting energy and into what’s ready to grow

Happy new year!

It is my daughter’s first day back in daycare. I kicked off my own new year by making a 5×5 “Bingo” board and labeling it “Dreams”. These are mostly things that would feel fun to do and accomplish, for the thrill of having done them.

Some are related to work, but some are surface level like - “bring a bottle of Veuve to book club” and “complete a 50 day streak on Duolingo”.

I don’t know about you, but pressure does the opposite of motivate me. It makes me shrink and puts my body in a fight or flight. So when I do create big goals, they need to feel more like bucket list items and less like ultimatums. I need to feel like I am having fun.

I’ve been thinking a lot about two things that are true at once.

  1. There’s a power to stating things out loud, which is why building in public works

  2. There’s a power in keeping your goals secret, of protecting the sacred energy and only sharing it with those you know will help you move things along and amplify that sacred energy, no matter what

As a coach and advisor, I tend to be in on a lot of people’s ideas and dreams, before they are willing to share them with the world. I get to witness the creation of something/ big things from a mere idea. I don’t take this honor lightly.

On January 1, I pulled three Tarot cards for the year and then called my best friend to help me interpret them to my life situation. We landed on how positive my cards are, and how positive they feel. It feels like I’m moving out of the waiting energy and into something that’s ready to sprout.

That’s the energy I’m carrying into this year. Gentle, protected and quietly confident. Rooting things before rushing to reveal them.

If you’re feeling something similar, on the edge of a new idea, a new chapter, or a new rhythm, I hope you give yourself permission to hold it with care. I’ll always be here, ready to cheer you on.

More from me soon,
Ankita
