I'm shaking things up.

Plus a really fun story about the time I accidentally ghosted my husband

I just got back after spending a week in Mexico City where several of us gathered, with our families, to celebrate a close friend’s wedding.

It was so good for my soul to be surrounded by these people who deeply get me, where we are connected on a deep level.

I hadn’t been back in Mexico City in 7 years(!)

7 years ago, in 2018, I was in my first year in business school and decided to go visit my friend Elisa for spring break.

In January 2018, a few months before spring break, my best friend and I decided to commit to ourselves and clean our own mess up - so that we were the best humans we could be - and we believed from that space we would attract our future partners.

Our tool and guide was a book, Calling In The One.

I was halfway done with the book by spring break. On my way over, I was stuck in the middle seat. Since there was no way I could sleep crammed in between two strangers, I spent an hour of the 5 hour flight from DC to CDMX reading a chapter of the book. Every chapter of that book felt like therapy. After every chapter, I felt lighter, happier, more aligned. My time in Mexico in 2018 - both in the city and on the beach in Oaxaca were incredible.

I stayed present and off my phone. I ate tuna toastadas, soaked in the ocean, read a chapter a day of my book, hung out with my friend and danced salsa.

When I got home to DC, I saw a missed message on Bumble from some dude I had “hearted” right before I left for spring break.

It had now been two weeks since I messaged him something witty from his profile, and 13 days since he had responded acknowledging my wit. Whoops.

I messaged him back telling him where I’d been and apologizing for dropping the ball, he asked me to an IRL date. We went on 4 dates in 2 weeks - and the rest is history.

So seven years since I first took that flight to Mexico, I was in the middle seat again, wedged between that guy I’d ghosted, my now husband, and our 10 month old daughter who was asleep in her car seat. Life has a funny way of working out.

Ok now for how and why I’m shaking things up.
You may have noticed that I’m sending this email from Beehiiv instead of Convertkit.
Happy Pop Tv GIF by Schitt's Creek

I’m planning to make the switch from Kit to Beehiiv permanent.

The reason (besides jumping on the Beehiiv growth bandwagon) is because Beehiiv is incredibly good at helping creators monetize their genius.

I have been slowly re-emerging from my slow transition back from maternity (and can I tell you how incredible that’s been?!)

This year, I am supporting:

  • Founders and aspiring founders create businesses that are insanely profitable while creating a massive impact (on society, the industry, customers)

  • Employees at fast growth companies: whether you manage a growing team or want to sharpen your intrapreneurial skills.

I’m doing this by:

  • Free content: this newsletter, LinkedIn and my podcast (it returns SO soon!!)

  • 1:1 coaching (only 4 humans at a time so I can give them my all)

  • A DIY kit (launching this summer!)

I have other goals this year, including monetizing both the podcast and this newsletter. I’d love to land paid speaking gigs/ facilitate corporate workshops, and I’d love to launch a new mastermind at the end of the year.

This email list, 2k incredible humans strong, is 3 years in the making. I acknowledge that you may not have originally followed me for this content. I, like so many of you, have gone through soooo many pivots.

Over the next couple months, I will start cleaning, segmenting and growing my email list. If you choose to stay, from the depth of my heart, I thank you. I promise to make it worth your while.

Hit reply and let me know what you’d like to hear more about from me.
