If you’ve had to choose between melting or getting cabin fever, I see you. It has been 100 degrees in DC for the last two weeks and I’m over it.

But the plus side is…. it’s summer, which feels like the season of testing new ideas, having fun, focusing on the second half of the year (which is somehow in… 3 days??)

I’ve been hosting so many workshops recently: both self-led and also within structured communities. I’ve been having a blast and am so grateful for the ease with which we can hop into things that interest us/ engage with people who make us curious.

I am the first to acknowledge that online business is very different from what it was in 2021. When I first got started, if I put together a workshop page, I’d get ~200-300 signups (without running ads), ~75 people attended live, ~20 people converted no matter the offer size (I tested this with a $100 offer and a $6500 offer). Now a few people sign up, fewer come live.

The blessing is that we have this incredible opportunity to slow down and get intentional about what we’re creating, who we’re creating it for, and the bigger why we’re creating it. That way the people who do come live are 100% present.

I think of 2020-2022 as the season of throwing spaghetti at the wall. Everyone was a course creator, a coach and a community builder. People signed up for every workshop, were wanting to meet new people, testing things.

Today, in 2025, we’re in the era of portfolio careers and vibe coding: we can do things faster, don’t need as many online summits (the world is relatively safe to go into again) and we get to be picky on who we work with.
